Police, with neighbours' help, nab suspects

Editor: Thank you to good neighbours and good police work.

On Saturday evening, February 26, we had a break and enter in the Hundred Houses area.

Thanks to a good neighbour who checked the house out and found a broken window and three vandals still inside the house.

He went above and beyond and tried to subdue one of the vandals, but all three got away.

He phoned 911 and got a very quick response from the local RCMP, who in turn got hold of the K-9 unit. Within one hour of the dog arriving, they tracked three suspects to their house where they were taken into custody.

In this day and age when it's so easy to criticize, I can't thank the local RCMP, the K-9 unit, and good neighbours enough.

Lake Cowichan is a great place to live when you have co-operation like this.

Hats off to good neighbours, excellent police work and service.
