Scented dryer sheets unwelcome like room spray
At last! In your Nov. 18 edition, someone who thinks the same as I!
Those dryer sheets are toxic to the environment and to the community. Not only in the air they spew outside, but to the house itself. I guess I’m lucky that I don’t have neighbours like A. Sherwood does, who just spew the dryer vent fragrance outside, stopping her enjoying her garden and her quality of life.
I rarely use my dryer. After all, it uses the most electricity in the house and there are other ways to dry. I love the summer when I can mostly dry outside — the smell of fresh sheets from the washing line is unbelievable! No need to use artificial perfume.
If I do need to use the dryer (fluffing towels) I have several dryer balls and a couple of small towels containing a fragrance-free fabric softener and that works well.
My other pet peeve is scented room spray. What are we doing to our family and home? Is this why there are so many people with allergies these days? Isn’t this reminiscent of DDT?
I agree with the letter writer. Let’s think about our own environment first and let’s be kind to our family and neighbours.
