No money in carbon offsets
There is a saying, “If a tree falls in the forrest, would anyone hear it?”
There is a new one: “If there is money for North Cowichan in carbon offsets, would anyone ever receive it?”
The answer to that is no. In spite of the assertion of the UBC retired forest folks that there was, they now say it’s too complicated.
These folks who are the cause of the pause say it’s too complicated. It isn’t. There’s no money to offset the $2 million lost to date. And we continue to pay Lees and Associates for the study that is not happening. Let’s hire those WE folks to get us this money from UBC.
