Leave man with tiny house alone

Re: “Man refuses to move tiny home from property”, (Citizen, March 13)

I read about the tiny house and possible $1,000 a day fine and had to ponder on the ironies of housing.

Homeless people crash in any spot they can find, (near me as well,) and have trouble disposing of garbage, needles and feces, and here we have a person who is in no one’s way, lives cleanly and greenly, and, by not taking up rental housing, leaves accommodation free for another. We tolerate the first and penalize the second — how is that fair?

I also happen to know that this tiny house person has spent his life in the service of those less fortunate, and done endless volunteer work — only to be hounded and threatened because someone has decided to make an example to discourage others and show that rules cannot be creative. Please let Mr. Tyler stay in the home where he is barely leaving a footprint on the earth, until you have sorted out the rules which can be adapted to a case by case scenario.
