Blind justice drops the ball. Again.

Cash based stay out of jail card.

Blind justice drops the ball. Again.

Purdue Pharmacy and the Sackler family who own it have been allowed to plead guilty in exchange for an $8 billion fine for offences committed to further the profits made from the sale of oxycontin. Not one second of prison time will be served, and far more billions made through the commission of those crimes remain to comfort the Sacklers in the future their victims no longer enjoy. I cannot help but wonder if the various street dealers and recreation drug users currently behind bars should have their sentences reduced or even rescinded, their convictions overturned because they were not offered a cash based stay out of jail card.

Equal treatment under the law should be an ideal, not a tasteless joke.
