Born October 12, 1944 in Biggar, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully in his sleep November 23, 2006 near Boston Bar, BC on the way home from his annual hunting trip with his brother Mike and good friends Ray Anderson and Donald McIntosh.

Predeceased by his father Ernest and mother Agnes; brother Charles “Chuck” (Irene), sisters Mandy (Nick) and Ida (Dave). Survived by his loving wife and soul-mate Leona, daughters Beth (Steve), Juanita, and Patti; son Joe (Margie); granddaughters Sarah and Jennifer, and step-grandchildren R.J. (Monica) and Meghan (Ryan), as well as his adored pets dog Jacob and cats Archie and Sheeba. Steve is also survived by his brothers and sisters Mike (June), Al (Lois), Ken (Bev), Lance (Lynn), Judy (Steve), Jean (Steve), aunts, cousins, and several nieces and nephews. Steve was known to the community for several years as “the big man with the moustache who drove the zamboni” at the Cowichan Lake Sports Arena. You could always count on him to lend someone a hand and he could fix practically anything. Dad enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the yard, gardening, and of course “puttering”. Dad and Mom spent most of their time together shopping, drinking coffee, watching TV and playing Yahtzee. Dad loved Christmas, especially lights and was always adding to his beautiful display at home. Steve will be remembered as a big man with an even bigger heart. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Donations to be made in Steve’s name to the charity of your choice.
