Phyllis Emmaline Perreaux, of Duncan, passed away peacefully at the Sunridge Place on her birthday, January 21, 2020 at the age of 99 years. She will be forever cherished by her children: Doreen (Vern) Klein, Sharon (Duane) Clarkson and Jim (Debbie) Perreaux. She will also be dearly missed by her seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Phyllis was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Henry (1993) and son-in-law, George (1975). She was one of ten children and was predeceased by all of them. Phyllis moved to Lake Cowichan in 1940 and married Henry on January 23, 1941. At the time of their 50th anniversary in 1991, they were believed to be the only couple to have lived continuously in Lake Cowichan since 1941. For over 50 years, Phyllis was a member of the Canadian Royal Purple. Some of her favorite interests included baking, cooking, knitting and making quilts. She worked at the local Co-op managing the 6/49 booth and also worked for Dr. Sharp for many years until her retirement in 1986. Phyllis was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be missed by the many who's lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2020 in the Arbor Reception Centre of Sands Funeral Chapel Duncan, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan. A Private Family Graveside Service was held at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered online at www.sandsduncan.ca.
