July 13, 1927 - January 24, 2019
It is with great sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Maurice Frank Bennett. With friends and family by his side, God called him home on the morning of January 24, 2019.

Known to friends and family as "Moe", he was born in Semans (as Moe would say "Where we all come from"), Saskatchewan to parents Frank Warring Bennett and Edith Isabelle Pickrell. He was predeceased by siblings Beatrice Isabelle, Wesley Robert, Florence Anne, David Neil and Muriel Joyce and his wife Thelma May Bennett in 1990.

He had worked both in banking and sales where he travelled all over BC and the Island for Phillip Morris. Moe was proud to have been a Big Brother for many years, a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Kinsmen, K40, and the Lions Club.

He had a passion for living life to the fullest, spending time with family and friends, helping others, curling, and playing bridge. Moe would want to be remembered as someone who would put a smile on your face and a chuckle in your heart. He strongly believed in serving God and thanked him for giving him a Christian father and more than the 3 score and 10 years promised.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and long-time good friend Thelma Robb. He also leaves behind in Sunridge Care Home in Duncan a very special friend and love of his life for the past 25 years, Wilma Slater.

He was a spiritual man with a strong Christian faith and will be sadly missed by his friends, fellow residents, care workers, and his Church family from Cowichan Lake Baptist Church. A heart felt thank you to the helpful staff at Sunridge Place where Moe received compassionate and loving care.

As Moe always said "God giveth, and God taketh away"

You never said "I am leaving".

You never said "goodbye".

You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why.

In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still, in our hearts we hold a special place that only you can fill!

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, a part of us went with you the day God called you home.
