April 6, 1927 - December 30, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great grandfather Joe Klimes on December 30th at Stanford Place in Parksville, B.C.

Predeceased by his loving wife Florence (Flo). Joe is survived by his three sons Jim (Dianne), Greg (Debbie), Andy (Louise), granddaughters, Angela, Sara, Heather and great grandchildren, Edison, Calvin, Locklan, Flora and Robyn.

Joe emigrated to Canada in 1949 from Pilsen, Czechoslovakia and attended the University of Toronto where he studied mechanical engineering. He later moved his family to Vancouver Island after receiving employment with MacMillan Bloedel, Kelsey Bay division. He eventually settled in Ladysmith where he worked at the Chemainus sawmill until 1991.

After retirement Joe's interests included travels to Europe, hiking the mountains behind Ladysmith and especially gardening where he was best known for his garlic and early girl tomatoes.

The family would like to send their deepest appreciation to Dr. Britton Foster of Ladysmith and the staff at Stanford Place for the compassionate care our father received over the years.

He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
