In Loving Memory ~ 1943-2021 ~
James (Jim) Anderson passed away unexpectedly right before Christmas. Jim was born in Vancouver but grew up on Vancouver Island spending much of his time in Lake Cowichan and Duncan. It was in Lake Cowichan where he met his future wife at age 4, though they didn't marry until 1967.
Jim attended Regina Campion College and BCIT where he became an engineering technologist. Upon graduating, Jim and Lois moved to Port Hope, Ontario for work and started a family.
During that time, Jim was well known for repairing antique furniture and teaching various furniture upholstery and refinishing classes, as well as sailing all over Lake Ontario. After spending the 22 years in Ontario, Jim and Lois moved backed to the Island.
Jim continued his love of antiques and could be seen frequenting yard sales on the weekends, often attending these in his little red Triumph convertible. He also repaired many pieces of old furniture and eventually opened up the Post Office Antique Mall in Ladysmith in 1992.
Jim is survived by his wife Lois and his sons Jerry (Erin) in Canada and Drew (Claudia) in Australia.
A family celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later date.
