Doreen Patricia Stewart

Pat passed away in the Cowichan District Hospital on Feb. 12, 2006. She was pre-deceased by her husband Charles (Chuck) Stewart, infant son Robert, parents Harry & Lydia Evans, brother Watson Evans, sister June Skeet, son-in-law Joe Sibley. she is survived by daughters Barbara (Gus) Liske, Diane Sibley, Carol (George) Groumoutis, Darle (Bob) McGeorge, Vickie (Russell) McArthur, Cheryl Stewart, 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, brother Herb (Beth) Evans, sister Reta (Otto) Lachman, sister-in-law Margaret Evans, brother-in-law Lionel Skeet, numerous nieces and nephews. Pat was born on May 10, 1923 in Duncan, the grandaughter of Pioneer Settlers David and Margaret Evans of Somenos in the Cowichan Valley. Pat was a graduate of Snow’s College of Dressmaking. As a long-time resident of Lake Cowichan she was well known as an expert seamstress and was admired for her ability to do alterations as well as creating gowns for the many graduates and brides throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the Ivy Rebekah Lodge, the Anglican Church Women and the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Assoc. or the Multiple Sclerosis Assoc. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Kerswell and the staff of the Cowichan District Hospital for their compassionate care of our Mother. Memorial Service to be held at St. Christophers Church, 70 Cowichan Ave W. Lake Cowichan on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 1 p.m. Tea to follow. Condolences may be offered at:
