AUJLA-Charan Singh Aujla was born on November 26th, 1929 and passed peacefully surrounded by his entire family on Friday, March 13th, 2009 at 11:30pm.
He immigrated to Canada to start a new life for his family in 1948. He lived in Lake Cowichan for the remainder of his years and worked for 45 years at the Youbou sawmill. His hard work, values, and discipline are now engrained in his family who appreciate the life he made for them in Canada. He was definitely a man of few words, however those words were of the greatest importance to those who heard them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Charan is honoured by his wife of 63 years, Rishpal Kaur Aujla; his children: Jasmail & Balwant, Gurmail & Denise, Manjit & Prakash, and Ranjit & Sukhwinder; his grandchildren: Hurdave & Jatinder, Inderjeet, Ghislaine, Emilie, Kabir, Sabia, Reubien and Kavita; his elder brother Harbans Aujla; younger sister Prakash Duhra; and many family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Riverside Funeral Home, 7410 Hopcott Road, Delta, BC on Saturday, March 21st, 2009 at 12:30pm. Prayer services will follow at the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara, 7050 Scott Road, Surrey, BC. Families wishing to make a donation can issue an offering to the Khalsa Diwan Society of Lake Cowichan, BC.
