Two vehicles take off from Cowichan Bay in hit and run

Police are looking for information on two vehicles involved in a hit and run on Saturday in Cowichan Bay.

The crash took place at approximately 1:45 a.m. in the 1700 block of Cowichan Bay Road.

The suspect vehicle was traveling north at a high rate of speed on Cowichan Bay Road while being followed by an accompanying vehicle.

As the suspect vehicle came around a slow right turn in the road, it lost control, hitting an Audi S5 and a Mazda CX5.

The suspect vehicle and the accompanying vehicle both took off quickly after the collision.

The incident caused significant damage to both the Audi and the Mazda.

There is believed to be significant and noticeable damage to the suspect vehicle on the rear bumper area.

There were no serious injuries reported in the incident.

Parts of the suspect vehicle left at the scene of the collision indicate that the suspect vehicle is a light grey or white BMW sedan with a rear spoiler.

The vehicle year is between 1985 and 1993.

The RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle and identifying the driver involved in this incident.
