National Volunteer Week was April 19-25 and the Lake Cowichan RCMP wanted to express their appreciation to the Youbou Speed Watch team.

“These Speed Watch volunteers provide a great service to their community,” said Lake Cowichan detachment commander Sgt. Lita Watson. “Their energy and enthusiasm to provide this important service is valued by the community, and the members of the detachment. We always appreciate when they’re out observing, and this week I wanted to thank them again.”

The team assists in observing speed violations as well as distracted drivers. These community members are dedicated to increasing the safety for all road users in the Youbou area.
