Families in Lake Cowichan will want to hop on over to Saywell Park on Sunday, March 31 for some free Easter fun beginning at noon with hot dogs, live music, and face painting. The Easter hunt is on at 12:30 p.m. and will be split into two age groups, and a surprise guest will make an appearance at 1 p.m.

The family friendly event is sponsored by Samantha Miner of Dustbunny Solutions and Jennifer Allen and Brittany Smart of Re/Max Generation. Other sponsors include Country Grocer, Hometown Heating, FT Quality Homes, Fresh Haven and Kraken Hockey. The price of hot dogs will be by donation with all proceeds going to the local food bank. Miner said this is the first year she has teamed up with the sponsors, but said other local businesses have stepped up to do similar events like this one in the past for the community.

“My inspiration for hosting this event is to give back to the local community that supports our small local businesses,” said Miner. “I hope it will be an afternoon full of fun for the kids and families in our community and a way to say thank you for supporting us over the years.”
