Glenora Farm, a charity serving adults with developmental disabilities, celebrated a special day Monday, Sept. 23.
They broke ground for the new Farm House, which will create five new spaces for full cycle companions (individuals enrolled in both residential and day programming).
The project will also enhance program services for current companions at Glenora by expanding the range of activities and experiences available onsite.
Glenora Farm is a unique place, as the many people who enjoy their festivals know, and offers what they call “radically inclusive” day and residential programming for approximately 20 persons with special needs, providing cultural, artistic, and therapeutic experiences within the context of a working biodynamic farm.
The Farm’s business manager, Tara Batho, said Tuesday, “[The ground breaking] was a wonderful event with many community members, stakeholders, and donors braving the rain to celebrate with us.”
