It was a hard decision, but last week, well-known local pomeranian Googles was put down, at the age of 17.

“He was just the town dog. Everyone loved him,” owner Darlene Pohn said of the dog, also known as the “lion dog.”

The decision to have Googles put down came as a result of the dog’s congestive heart failure, and trouble breathing.

His last day was spent visiting kids at the Kaatza Child Care Society, and the A&W; a couple of his favourite places to visit people.

Googles was also known for being at one of the Great Lake Walk’s rest stops.

“He thought he was a pup,” Pohn said.
