The Easter Eggspress is back at the BC Forest Discovery Centre for three days over the Easter long weekend, April 8-10, featuring the annual Easter Scavenger Hunt for families.

“This event has been a popular spring tradition for more than 10 years and was so popular prior to COVID that we are very excited to celebrate it for the entire three days of the Easter long weekend. We have missed seeing our regular members and the families that make so many of our events their family traditions and we are so happy to be open for the three days to celebrate Easter,” says Chris Gale, manager at the BC Forest Discovery Centre.

“Unlimited Green Hornet train rides, goodie bags for those on the scavenger hunt, and a great educational experience, and the concession will be open, are just some of the reasons for kids of all ages to come out to the three-day event.”

Admission is $8 for children three to 12 years (two and under are free), $10 for youth/seniors and $12 for adults. Tickets are available for purchase at the door.

This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, Sunday, and Easter Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with goodie bags being provided for children who complete the scavenger hunt. Sponsor Save On Foods is supplying the goodie bags of Easter treats.

“And special thanks to all our volunteers that help make these family friendly events happen,” said Gale.

The Easter Scavenger Hunt is just the beginning of a season full of special events, says a press release. Other events planned for the 2022 season include Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Canada’s Birthday, Truck Show, Kid’s Day, Labour Day, Halloween and, of course, the popular Christmas Express. Admission to all summer events including Easter is free with an inexpensive yearly family membership. Visit our website for details.

The BC Forest Discovery Centre is a not-for-profit museum and relies on sponsorships, donations and memberships in order to continue its operations. Special event and membership information can be found at www.bcforestdiscoverycentre.com or by calling 250-715-1113.
