Kerry Park Arena played host to the Vancouver Island Interclub figure skating competition earlier this month, and both the host Kerry Park and Duncan skating clubs were well represented.
Kerry Park had five skaters entered. Elysabeth Hillis placed sixth in Star 4 women over 13, Emma Muller took bronze in Star 7 artistic, Evelyn Wilke received silver in Star 2 girls, Phoebe Smith received merit in Star 1 girls, and Charlotte Gough took silver in Star 1 girls.
The Duncan Skating Club entered 24 skaters in 29 events.
“This was the first competition for many of the skaters and they all did well,” coach Lorraine Francisty said.
Hailey Cerrer placed first in Star 5 artistic, and Peyton Kong was second. In Star 7 artistic, DelRae Olson finished first and Ryley MacDonald was second. In Gold Artistic, Kiera Klymchuk placed first.
MacDonald also placed fifth in Star 6 women, and Kong was eighth.
The Star 1 boys class saw Evencio Jimenez take bronze, while Aliah Delano-Prenz and Cohen Leidenus received merit.
In Star 1 girls group 1, Aolani Jimenez received bronze, and Hadley Leidenus, Heidi Phillips and Grace Work received merit.
In Star 1 girls group 3, Jayda Watson took silver, and Isis Waters and Makala Crook received merit.
In Star 1 girls group 5, Sydnee Poznecov claimed gold and Jamie Mann took merit.
In Star 2 girls group 4, Chinta Carnochan received merit.
In Star 2 girls group 5, Annette Blumel took Bronze, while Ella Thornely, Addison Vanoostrom and Crystal Work all received merit.
In Star 3 girls group 3, Lyla deLeeuw took gold.
In Star 4 girls 13 & over, Anika Olson placed fourth.
In Star 5 women 13 & over, Kiera Klymchuk placed third, Hailey Cerrer was eighth, and DelRae Olson finished 13th.
