Tadpole baseball players pack Evans Park

Reds and Mariners represent Duncan Minor Ball

Young baseball players kept Evans Park hopping last weekend as 10 teams gathered for the Island tadpole regionals.

The Duncan Reds ended up eighth overall, with the Duncan Mariners in ninth.

MVP awards were handed out after each game. The Duncan Reds’ MVPs were Gunnar Olson, Jacob Wirth, Spencer Ralfs, Graidy McArthur and Cash Wilson, and the Duncan Mariners’ MVPs were Nate Hodgins, Jacob Hollett, Nolan Davis, Michael McCallum and Avery Oye.

Carnarvon finished first overall, followed by the Nanaimo Pirates Gold in second and the Nanaimo Pirates Black in third.

Rounding out the field, the Oceanside Reds were fourth, the Ladysmith 49ers were fifth, the Triangle Black Stars were sixth, the Campbell River Tyees were seventh, and the Triangle Red Bulls were 10th.

Evans Park will host the U12B provincial championships this weekend.
