Bill Ferguson knocked off defending champion Jim Irvine to win the men’s singles tournament at the Cowichan Lawn Bowling Club on July 30 and 31.

The tournament saw two groups of six men each play a five-game round robin with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinals. Ferguson and Irvine won their respective semifinals and advanced to the final.

CLBC president Ross Bulley presented Ferguson with the championship plaque at the end of the tournament.

The women’s singles tournament will take place on Aug. 14 and 15. The men’s and women’s novice singles tournament is set for this Sunday.
