Hockey tournament action abounds over winter break

Games all over the Cowichan Valley: Fuller Lake, Island Savings Centre, Kerry Park, Lake Cowichan

Hockey fans in the Cowichan Valley have no shortage of opportunities to check out the action on the ice as the Cowichan Valley, Kerry Park and Lake Cowichan minor hockey associations are hosting a plethora of tournaments between Christmas and the end of the winter break.

First up for the CVMHA is the Novice Cross Ice H-4 Jamboree at Fuller Lake Arena, running on Dec. 27 and 28.

That will be followed immediately by the atom C tournament, also at Fuller Lake, on Dec. 29 and 30.

Three female hockey tournaments will run at Fuller Lake Arena in the first week of 2019, starting with the atom female teams on Jan. 2 and 3, the Peewee Female New Year’s Tournament on Jan. 3-5, and the Bantam Female New Year’s Tournament on Jan. 4-6.

The male bantam C tournament on Jan. 5-6 will be shared between Fuller Lake Arena and the Island Savings Centre.

The KPMHA will host the Nick Collins Memorial Midget C Tournament on Dec. 27-29.

Lake Cowichan is holding two tournaments over the break: a novice tournament on Dec. 28 and 29, and a peewee tournament on Jan. 4-6.
