Brady Lynn has become the 12th player from the 2019-20 Cowichan Valley Capitals to commit to a post-secondary school.

Lynn signed on with Ontario Tech University in Oshawa for the 2020-21 season, where he will play for the Ridgebacks Ontario University Athletics, part of U Sports.

A product of Victoria, Lynn played 57 regular-season games with the Caps in 2019-20, finishing fourth in goals with 16, sixth in assists with 23, and fifth in points with 39. He added three goals and two assists for five points in five playoff games.

He also spent most of the 2018-19 season in Cowichan after coming over from the Nanaimo Clippers in an early-season trade. In 32 games with the Caps that season, he totalled 22 points on 13 goals and nine assists, then added seven more points on four goals and three helpers in 12 contests.

Over his BCHL career, Lynn played 178 games, scoring 47 goals and setting up 46 more for 93 points, while adding 164 penalty minutes. His playoff totals were seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 28 games.

“Brady was an honest, hard-working kid that we relied on a lot last year in all types of situations,” Caps assistant coach Dan Whiteford commented.

“Whether it was on the PP, PK or even strength, Brady wanted to be the best on the ice. I’m really happy for Brady; he was one of our 20s that definitely deserved to get a shot somewhere. I think he will thrive as a Ridgeback.”
