Finding a gap in local kids’ hockey experience, local Novice League coach Calvin Convery decided, this winter, that Cowichan Lake needed a floorball team. Now a few weeks in, it’s proven itself to be a great success.
“They were all red-faced and happy,” he said, of the full program of 24 kids, aged nine to 12. With some kids on a wait list, it looks like floorball – a mash up of hockey and soccer – is here to stay.
