The local Lakers C2 Peewee League team played a hard home game, Saturday, February 12, ultimately losing to Cowichan Valley 1, with a score of 4-2.
Both of the two home team goals were scored by number 14, Billy Robertson. His first goal was scored in the second period, and his second was scored with only five minutes remaining in the final period.
This final period made for some exciting hockey action, with both teams ramping up their aggressive hockey playing in accordance to the counting down clock. With less than a second left in the game, a Cowichan Valley player was down after a heavy hit against the boards.
After a few tense minutes, the player got up, with the game-ending buzzer sounding as he made his way to the locker room.
