Cowichan Valley High School Bowling Program hands out awards

Briana Wright takes Triple Crown again

Briana Wright claimed her fourth consecutive Ladies Triple Crown when the Cowichan Valley High School Bowling Program handed out its annual awards in February.

Wright had the Ladies High Single of 178, the High Series of 416 and the High Average of 123.21 over the 12-week program, run at Duncan Lanes. Wright also had the Ladies High Over Average Single of plus 61, and Danika Lazenby had the Ladies High Over Average Series of plus 81.

Alex Gammie was two thirds of the way to the Men’s Triple Crown, and set a pair of league records along the way. Gammie had the Men’s High Series of 626 and High Average of 180.33, both league records, while Parker Harvey owned the Men’s High Single of 235. Harvey also had the Men’s High Over Average Single of plus 75 and High Over Average Single of plus 121.

Wright also received the Bertha Linde Memorial Scholarship for the fourth straight year, while Gammie received the Denis Linde Memorial Scholarship. The scholarships were established by CVHSBP coach Bob Linde to honour his parents.

Lazenby was the Most Improved Lady at plus 17.11, and Troy Parkinson was the Most Improved Man at plus 8.80.

Thunder and Lightning (Paige Novak and Danika Lazenby) were the league champions, followed by runners-up Double Trouble (Ethan Frehlick and Parker Harvey). We Got Nuthin (Alex Gammie and Gavin Murchie) were the playoff champs.
