The Vancouver Island Masters 2022/23 all-star team has been selected and will be coached by Cowichan’s own Neall Rowlings and Kevin James.

The team, which includes 10 Cowichan players, will play the Fraser Valley on Jan. 7 at Willoughby.

“We were robbed of this game due to COVID, and weather the last few years,” Rowlings said. “It’s a good way to bring together the Island players and see what the Lower Mainland has to offer.”

Matt James, Jesse Winter, Todd Vass, Darian Achurch, Brad Archibald, Rowlings, Stuart Barker, Brad Thorne, Richard Lord, all from the Cowichan 49ers, were named to the team.

From the Cowichan Steelheads, defender Jesse Grass was also named to the team, along with nine players from other rosters within the Vancouver Island Soccer League.

Cowichan’s Tyler Hughes and the late Bill Keserich Jr. were given honourary mentions.
