Re: “We are addicted to junk food”, (Citizen, Feb. 13)

Shame on you Mr. Riley. You should be thanking the hard working small group of volunteers who administer and operate the Valley Seniors Organization on a regular basis.

The VSO is a large organization. In addition to numerous social activities, the management still finds time to put out wholesome, affordable lunches on most days. Those seniors who partake enjoy these home made lunches and desserts and attest that they are exceptionally fresh and delicious.

It should be appreciated that the VSO management operate within their limited budget and resources. They cannot compete with restaurant fare, nor is that the intention.

Instead of being critical we, as do 99 per cent of the membership, offer congratulations to a very devoted and much appreciated staff of volunteers, led by Shirley and Ron Hill. Please don’t change a thing folks!

P.S. We still have not tasted those donuts. Where in the VSO are you hiding them?
