Why don’t we have curbside glass recycling?

I wonder why we can’t put glass in our curbside recycling? I know we can take it to Bings Creek or the recycling depot (which is closed at this time) but for myself and other older residents that don’t drive or have mobility issues it is difficult!

For the first time in my life I have been throwing glass bottles and jars in the trash, which annoys the heck out of me; I have been a lifelong recycler! And when I lived in Vancouver we put recyclable bottles out too and met many of the less fortunate in our community that counted on the income from the returns. Notably two sisters in their 80s who supplemented their small pensions and afforded them to stay in their own home and they enjoyed the exercise and socialization. So what’s up Cowichan?
