We are too politically correct about animals

Now I don’t agree with animal cruelty but I this is going too far.

A few weeks ago there was the river otter story.

A river otter found its way into a fish pond, eating very expensive koi fish and this river otter was having a great time eating gourmet dinners every day.

The value of these fish was $1,000 to $5,000 each, but nobody had the guts to say shoot the otter because there would have been an outcry of animal cruelty, but nobody thought about how the fish felt to be eaten alive by this otter, but people think that is better than shooting the otter. Now I don’t agree with animal cruelty but I this is going too far. This otter ate 10 fish, average $2,500 each, that ads up to $25,000.

Are we as a society going overboard when it comes to animals? Just recently SPCA was looking for homes for 90 rats, a few years ago Victoria Hospital was having a problem with rabbits. The rabbits were caught and shipped to Texas, I believe, to live out their lives at a cost of thousands of dollars. It would have been better to have them slaughtered and given to the food banks.

We are becoming a society that we want to be so politically correct that we are losing sight of reality.
