Vimy Road being used as garbage dump
Several times a year as I have done for many years I pick up garbage along the road sides in the Vimy Road neighbourhood which includes Winchester, Lanchaster, Cambrai, Normandy, Corey, Scarp and Heritage Roads.
In the past five years or so Vimy Road in particular has become a dumping ground for fast food takeout containers, drink containers, general household garbage, cigarette butts and anything else that can be thrown to the side of the road. There are about 80 homes and residences in the neighbourhood but most people are either the discarders or they are so self-absorbed and self-satisfied that they don’t even clean up the road side in front of their own residence never mind anywhere else.
It disappoints me so many people don’t care about their own neighbourhood which they unapologetically speed through to get the kids to school, to go shopping or conduct business.
