Train doesn’t stop at the border

On Tuesday, Nov. 21, the governor of Washington state, Jay Inslee, was in the B.C. legislature talking to B.C. MLAs about a proposal to bring high speed rail service between Vancouver, B.C. and Seattle, Washington.

B.C.’s Premier John Horgan, in response to the suggestion, said that stopping at the border for border custom checks would defeat the purpose of high speed rail. Presently, Amtrak has rail service between Vancouver, B.C. and Seattle, Washington, and passengers clear customs in Vancouver, B.C. before boarding the train to Seattle, and passengers clear customs in Seattle, Washington, before boarding the train to Vancouver, B.C. The train does not stop at the border.

This proves that the taxpayers of B.C. have a lame duck premier. Also proves that John Horgan, constantly 24/7 shoots from the hip without ever doing any research on a topic before making public announcements. A major embarrassment to B.C. taxpayers. Politics in B.C. is known to the rest of Canada as entertainment, and once again the rest of Canada can laugh again at our premier.
