Tough getting around during COVID for differently-abled

I have lived in Duncan for about seven years; I am a full-time caregiver for a special needs lady; recently, about two years ago, I have had to start using a wheelchair when I go out and about.

Normally this is not a problem, but since COVID-19 has decided to pay us a visit, things have gone downhill for any differently-abled one.

The wheelchair taxis have now got no drivers. Hopefully, they will come back someday. HandyDART is an option, yes, I agree, but it can be hard to book a ride.

I know there are regular buses, and they are quite good, but if the person you are taking to the appointment cannot walk or handle being in public long enough to get to the bus stop, how does one get to their appointment?

It seems like our little town is not really set up too well in the transportation area for the differently-abled.

I am not blaming the taxis, handyDART, or even the bus service, but I wonder what people do in this situation?

Anyone out there have answers? I would love to hear your opinion and suggestions.
