Too many people, not too many deer

“The true goal of life is being in agreement with nature” — author unknown

I was shocked and appalled to read the letter from T.E. Taylor of Duncan, headed “Too many deer”. Too many humans would be my response.

So many of these beautiful animals are being killed on the roads, by careless, speeding motorists, leaving does/fawns defenseless and starving.

If you decimate the deer, then there will be a problem with cougars, wolves, bear, elk, racoons, etc. etc. So the solution is just to decimate the animal population, because he wants to have a garden.

There would not be a problem, if man had some respect for the animal population, and the environment. Stop decimating their land and natural food sources.

As an unknown author said, “The true goal of life is being in agreement with nature.”

Try getting a fence and getting over it. Alternatively, do not plant a smorgasbord for the deer.

Another suggestion would be to grow up and develop a mature, compassionate outlook on life.
