South Shore Road overrun with litter
In frustration at the end of a recent walk with my dog, I scolded him, “Barney, just once I’d like to take a walk without have to say ‘leave it’ a dozen times.”
It then occurred to me that it wasn’t the dog’s fault, it was the deplorable amount of litter on the sidewalks and boulevards. There are garbage cans at least every two blocks on South Shore Road and more in parks and side streets. How inconvenient can it be for people to carry their masks, coffee cups, wrappers, etc. the extra distance to dispose of properly?
Please, let’s all try to do better (and yes, I do pick up after my dog).
