Poverty reduction plan unlikely to get results
Shane Simpson, B.C. NDP Minister of Social Development and Poverty Reduction has announced a poverty reduction plan for B.C. as he states that B.C. was the only province in Canada without a poverty reduction plan.
The former NDP provincial government of Manitoba introduced such a plan. The Manitoba plan as of this date, just seems to be a glossy, feel good kind of document which does little to instill confidence that the government is really committed to poverty reduction.
Only time will tell, but Simpson’s B.C. poverty reduction plan will most likely just be a glossy, feel good kind of document also, with zero results.
