Paradise Pools access problems solved

Dear mayor and council: I applaud whatever actions council and others took to stop access to the precarious Paradise Pools on the Cowichan River below the Cliffs and Banks roads intersection.

This year we have happily had no rowdyism, parking problems, noise issues, accidents, first-responder calls, nor trash concerns since this access was thankfully closed in past months. North Cowichan’s posted signs telling folks there is no access to the river from this spot also helped, I believe.

I now urge council to consider finding and opening other accesses to our rivers for swimming and hiking, along with wardens or staff to ensure safety and garbage issues are policed.
