Nickel as good as biggest donation
For 20 years, I have co-ordinated the Salvation Army kettle at Mill Bay. Over that time the people of this area have been more than generous in their giving.
Last Saturday, however, a man looking very down and out approach me and quietly said, “I would like to give but have no money.” He then put his hand in his pocket and drew out a coin. “Oh, I have a nickel.” He put the coin in the kettle.
He gave all that he had. Can we as citizens of this fair Valley do the same? He gave what he had. May God’s love enclose and give him comfort. Amen.
