My Sunday walk — counting dog poop

I go for my walks to one of my favorite places, looking towards Cowichan Bay. I look to my left with my vision filled with the mighty Mt. Tzouhalem.

The waters filled with symphony of ducks, geese and seagulls. With the low tide the marsh is so picturesque. I hear the unique singing of the frogs and crickets.

A walk in Cowichan Bay. How beautiful the number of birds flying in musical formation. What an awesome place we live in.

And then — and then — and then — ladies and gentlemen — WATCH YOUR STEP.

I counted on one side of my walk 46 glumps, plumps and piles of dog poop.

There is also the distraction and eyesore of coloured bags that are used to pick up dog poop. They are thrown to the side and hang off the branches and are thrown in to hide in the berry bush. Maybe a thought for you is to take those bags home and hang it off your fruit trees or berry bushes. Maybe it will add colour to your house.

I know I am honoured and respectful to where my home sits on the powerful Mother Earth.

Come on people, we all have an obligation to take care of Mother Earth — the very simplicity of cleaning up after your dog and dispose of the dog poop bag at home.

Start that today.
