Why is it taking so long to fix Allenby Road?

It has been over a year since the slide on Allenby Road. The province has been able to repair and rebuild the entire Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt in this time. The highway between Merritt and Highway 1 (Highway 8), that is 60 kilometers long, was completely wiped out has been repaired and reopened. And here we sit in the Cowichan Valley with a relatively small slide on Allenby Road and the road is still closed.

This is completely unacceptable. Allenby Road helps to relieve congestion along Trunk Road between Canada Avenue and Highway 1. It also helps when there is congestion on Highway 1 coming north into Duncan.

Where are our politicians who need to address this issue and fix it?
