Voting system broken; truck protesters great; Trudeau bad
I noted the letter written by Paul Harris compares the closing down of businesses to trampling on people’s rights and violations of the Charter of Rights, to speeding on our highways. He claims to support the NDP for all his life and rarely living in a NDP riding, yet he lives in Duncan.
Mr. Harris doesn’t take into account the split between east and west when he describes our democracy as one where we can vote and choose our parliament. He conveniently forgets that Upper and Lower Canada control who we elect and when they don’t quite get it right the Liberals (with around 20 per cent of eligible voters) have their lap dogs the NDP to support them. Mr. Harris also suggests the truckers, who represent people from all walks of life are Conservatives. However truckers, being a major part of the blue collar workers of Canada, are quite likely NDP voters.
The truckers shovelled the streets of Ottawa, fed the homeless abided by court orders and although there were a couple of rebels trying to use the movement to cover up their bad deeds using the movement as a cover, were extremely peaceful, successfully turning five provinces lock down policies to freedom.
I think Mr. Harris needs to talk to the hundreds of thousands of Canadians who have lost their jobs through forced vaccinations, masking and vaccine passports and the equal number who have lost their businesses and their money, impaired their marriages, split friends apart through the unlawful edicts of an overbearing prime minister, one who is controlled by the World Economic Council and the UN and supported by the NDP. He would not find a very sympathetic group supporting his claims.
He should also be taught that we don’t live in a country with great free health care but a shoddy system paid through our high taxation.
I also have sympathy for the health care workers, however their ranks have also been thinned by the same prime ministerial edicts trying to combat a virus. I have never heard anyone abuse our health care workers, quite the contrary, the praise has been overwhelming at times.
I certainly can understand being an NDP supporter can have a blurred vision of the facts.
