On Sunday, Aug. 4 I was joining family and friends in Ladysmith for a barbecue get-together and the evening fireworks show.
Unfortunately an unexpected incident happened, and I ended up in your Urgent Care about 7:30. Only two other patients were there at the time, so I was quickly led into the outer exam room for questions and initial evaluation from a very pleasant nurse. Within minutes, the X-ray technician arrived to prepare her machine for shutdown before closing time that evening. As a result, I was extremely fortunate to be able to have X-rays done almost immediately. Meanwhile more patients were arriving.
Yes, I had some waiting time, but the nurses and doctor never stopped — either with the patients on hand or ongoing phone messages. They were always friendly and caring with everyone.
Within two hours I was treated and able to leave to get back to enjoy your amazing fireworks display.
Despite the doom and gloom news, and dreadful stories of serious difficulties in facilities around the province, please appreciate and support the incredible one you have.
Many heartfelt thanks to the professionals who helped me that evening, and hats off to you Ladysmith — very lucky indeed!
