Re: Ceremony commemorating Burma Campaign

Thanks so much to the few of you who attended the commemoration of the Burma Campaign. It made page one!

And to the soldiers who fought so bravely and have passed on, they certainly did “give their todays for our tomorrows”.

As a resident of Duncan, I was thrilled to see that Charles Hoey Park was named after one of those Canadian soldiers who fought so bravely in my mother’s homeland, Burma, now known as Myanmar which is now suffering from more recent atrocities as they struggle to maintain democracy in their country.

On behalf of my father Captain E. J. Page (deceased), also awarded the Burma Star Medal, from all our family we say, well done!
