Still need roads for electric cars

Re: “Bypass would be costly, destructive”, (Aug. 2)

A bypass should have been constructed around Duncan decades ago. However, is the letter-writer missing something? The government put forth rules to ban the sale of fossil fuel-powered new vehicles by 2035 at the earliest. Electric cars are already becoming commonplace. In a few years the question of fossil fuel anything in terms of transportation will be entirely moot, but, until they invent Star Trek shuttlecraft, we’ll still need roads for electric cars.
