Service Canada not safe with private information

Got a letter in the mail from Service Canada informing me that, since I was over 75, I would be receiving a $500 lump sum payment. This letter was dropped off in my mailbox which is attached to the exterior of my house. To my horror the letter contains not only my address, but my Client Identification Number (CIN), which just happens to be my SOCIAL INSURANCE NUMBER ! No wonder there are so many cases of identity theft when even a Government office is so careless with this critical information. These CINs need to be changed to protect a person’s identity.
