Renovate Greenwell into housing, don’t tear it down
It is too bad this beautiful old school will be demolished, surely it could have been redesigned and remodelled into some form of rental housing. Imaging all the old wood that could be recycled.
This site has a stream running on one side of it and I do not think putting the works yard on any part of this site is appropriate as runoff from things used and dumped there could pollute the watercourse.
Surely a better use would be a multi level care home, or as stated above, rental housing that would be income based.
There is a beautiful forested and wetlands area around the school which should not be allowed to be removed or destroyed.
As our B.C. government is looking at opening up Crown land for rental/seniors housing our council should be looking at putting something more there than a works yard.
With thought and public input this area could be turned into something that could serve our community members for years to come.
