Make the rail corridor a trail

Canada and B.C. have decided to revert the E&N corridor in Snaw-Naw-As First Nation territory back to that community.

Provincial engagement with the 14 First Nations whose traditional territory the tracks traverse found that the impacted First Nations felt ongoing harms related to how the land was initially taken; also a barrier to economic development that restricted access within their communities, with those living near the tracks concerned about their health and safety.

A continuous trail preserves the E&N corridor for future generations at minimal expense while adapting to First Nations interests more easily than rebuilding the railway.
