Kraken should be the Lakers

The Kraken is a hockey team that plays out of Seattle in Washington State. Why is the junior hockey team coming to Lake Cowichan not called “The Lakers”? The Lakers have been cheered on in the Cowichan Lake Arena since the early 70s and should continue to be.
