Homeless people freezing on the streets
I used to live in Cowichan Valley, and I still come up to work in Duncan weekly. For the past few months I’ve been dismayed by the numbers of First Nations on the streets that I see, and wondering where the help is for these people?
On Boxing Day Sunday, in -5 C, I talked to these three people under the tarp, who agreed to this photo being submitted to the paper. They would like housing, have been trying to get a cabin without luck so far.
This is a dire, emergency, situation!
What can we do to help these people without housing?
