Fly the flag with respect on Canada Day
I begin with a ‘thank you’ to those who responded positively to my letter of June 23.
To the anonymous author of the critical response, I say, while you are entitled to your opinion, you must own it if you want me to treat it as food for thought, rather than simply as fodder for the shredder.
In the meantime, my concern remains with those who have felt alienated or intimidated in recent months by the sight of the Canadian flag flown upside down or annotated with an expletive. I urge them to join the majority, who will fly it with respect on Canada Day and always.
